It’s 2017, so you probably already have an opinion on Taylor Swift.    

No one has been written about more; had every move questioned, every friend analyzed. She didn’t speak out enough about the election! She entered a restaurant with a man! She didn’t have a Fourth of July party this past summer, and no less than a dozen articles were written about that fact.    

Not as spoken about, however, is how damn smart she is. Give or take a Beyonce, she’s arguably the most popular artist on the planet (and her sales numbers, for the record, crush Queen Bey’s.) You don’t become a world-famous pop star by accident, of course, but her mix of ambition, foresight and media savvy are perfectly suited for this moment in time with its 24/7 news cycle and #takes and social media.  Read more...

Kid draws a hilarious family portrait, featuring his mother on her period

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote.  "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'"  Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
