More Than A Fad! Hip-Hop Becomes To Most Popular Genre In The U.S.

It is hard to imagine that during the early years hip-hop was considered to be a fad. Well today, over 40 years later the word comes down that Hip-Hop Becomes To Most Popular Genre In The U.S. This interesting bit of news comes down from a semi-annual report published by Nielsen Music.

The report stated that R&B and hip-hop make up 25.1% of all music consumption in the U.S., while rock music sits at 23%. Rock still leads when it comes to album sales, but with physical record sales declining, hip-hop and R&B have filled a digital void. Hip-hop and R&B account for just over 29% of all on-demand streams, which continues to grow exponentially.
