Inspired By The Sea! The Portage Bay House By Heliotrope Architects

Architecture comes in all sorts of shapes, sizes and unique inspirations. Well, today we get a look at a beautiful home that overlooks the water in Seattle; The Portage Bay House By Heliotrope Architects. This beautiful home takes inspiration from the city’s maritime heritage boasting some unique attention to detail inside and out. The exterior features a zinc and aluminum cladding that is a nod to the local marine sheds found in the area.

Inside we find a warm and welcoming approach with cedar and walnut planks, accompanied by accents of flagstone, marble, and steel. The front of the home is hidden inside of an opaque shell while the transparent facade in the rear provides plenty of natural light and some fantastic views of the surrounding area.
